Harmony fundamentals

During a recent support call, it occurred to me that I had spent so long working on Harmony, and was so familiar with it's premise, that I had failed to properly communicate it fundamentals. So, included in the Harmony 2.4 help manual is this description explaining Harmony's most basic ideas.

End of the line for NIV 1984 and TNIV

OakTree software announced today that the NIV 1984 and the TNIV translations will no longer be available for Accordance Bible after January 16, 2012 at the request of the publisher. As you may know, Harmony uses Accordance for it's scripture features. If you need to pick up either retiring translation, OakTree are running a sale until the 16th.

Harmony's origins

In the spring of 2005, I was asked by a friend to lead worship every week for a class she was teaching at Colorado Christian University. The classroom we met in had a projector and all I had to do was bring along a laptop for lyric projection. Although I had led worship for many years in my professional life and also installed several projection systems, I had never purchased any worship presentation software for myself.

A momentous amelioration

If you've been around the Mac community for a few years you may remember the moment at WWDC 2008 when then Apple SVP of Software Engineering, Bertrand Serlet announced that Mac OS X Snow Leopard would have 0 new features. Does Harmony run on OS X Lion?

Version 2.1 of Harmony is available today. The 2.1 release focuses on expanding the Theme options introduced in 2.0, improvements to the Preview Window, updating the look and correcting a whole list of minor issues.
